We Welcome You to Worship With Us
Experience the warmth of our community and the grace of the sacraments at St. Barbara's.
The Sacraments of Our Church
The sacraments are sacred rites instituted by Christ to give grace. At St. Barbara's, we welcome you to participate in these foundational moments of faith and community.
Baptism
The first sacrament that welcomes individuals into the Christian community, cleansing original sin and initiating new life in Christ.
Requirements & Arrangements:
Parents and godparents are required to attend a preparation session. Please contact the parish office to schedule.
First Holy Communion & Confirmation
Sacraments that deepen our commitment to faith. First Communion is the first reception of the Eucharist, and Confirmation strengthens the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Preparation:
Children typically participate in our parish religious education program (CCD). Registration opens annually in the fall.
Holy Matrimony
The sacrament that unites a man and a woman in a lifelong covenant of faithful love, reflecting Christ's union with the Church.
Arrangements:
Couples must contact the parish at least six months in advance to begin marriage preparation, which includes meetings with a priest and participation in a pre-Cana program.
Reconciliation & Anointing of the Sick
Sacraments of healing. Reconciliation offers God's forgiveness, and the Anointing of the Sick provides spiritual strength during illness.
Availability:
Confession is offered Saturdays from 4:00-5:00 PM or by appointment. For the Anointing of the Sick, please contact the parish office for a visit, especially in cases of serious illness or before surgery.
